Early morning walk on Cissbury Ring.
Peacock butterfly on Blackthorn blossom in April. Not to be confused with the Hawthorn, which flowers later in May. As someone recently told me, the trick to distinguishing between them is that the flowers of the Blackthorn come before the leaves, whereas with the Hawthorn the leaves come before the flowers.
Two male Azure Damselflies.
Below you can see the female is a green colour. This pair have formed a mating wheel. It's behaviour that all dragonflies and damselflies adopt when mating.
Morning mist over Amberley Wildbrooks.
Bluebells in Morning Light.
It's a glorious time of day, with long shadows and a warm light that make the bluebells look purple.
Tawny owlet branching, away from its nest, high up in the tree canopy. It's not quite ready to fledge yet (fly away) as it still has some downy feathers.
Four Fluffy Cygnets
A swathe of Red Campion bringing a bit of colour to Skomer Island.
